Something that the kids are always excited for is spending time with their Learning Buddy. Often we play Math or Language games, read books, or,once in a while, head outdoors together. This week we played a game called "Four In A Row" which reviews a little Math, a little letter/sound recognition, and a lot of strategizing! It is a fun game that keeps both the younger and older student engaged.
This week in Language we have been discussing character, setting, problem and solution. Using Sadie And The Snowman was the perfect non-fiction book for the kids to clearly identify each of these features. We will continue to explore this while enjoying our read-alouds. Madame Crawford read the French version so that the children could compare the two books. They were very excited to hear the words in another language.
Thankfully the freezing rain stayed away and I was able to dig into the snow so that we could play with it indoors! A wonderful way to play, but it also supports Science as the children learn about freezing, melting, slush, and the effects of warm air. We had quite the pool by the time we were done but it was so much fun!
Because of the snow day today I will take the children to the Library on Monday as I am sure they were disappointed to have missed it.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
